Siragu is high in content
With Mani Ratnam unveiling its songs and promo teaser launched by AR Rahman, popular lyricist and writer turned filmmaker Kutty Revathy’s debut direction Siragu (Feather) has garnered lot of attention. Bankrolled by Mala Maniyan, Hari Krishnan and Akshita play the lead roles.
Speaking about how she came on board, Revathy said, “Mala Manyan was looking out for scripts with good content. I met and discussed my one line. We spent a lot of time and fine-tuned the script till we were happy with it. We planned everything well and shot for 30 days. Mala was very meticulous and I learnt a lot from her. The two feathers in the travel story are music composer Aroll Corelli and cinematographer Raja Bhattacharjee. Aroll did lot of research for every song and I expected something like AR Rahman does. Indeed he fulfilled my expectations. And Raja sir has chiseled each and every frame.”
Aroll Corelli said that Siragu is one of the significant films in his career. “Everyone is aware of Revathy madam’s strong writing skills. After reading the bound script, I felt as if I have travelled from Chennai to Kanyakumari.” Dr Vidya, and Nivas Aditthan are also part of the cast. The audio was launched at an event in the city.
