Anjali Ameer is a pathbreaker in many ways. She went through a successful sexual reassignment surgery and became a successful model for several brands. Now, the talented actress is foraying into films with director Raam’s Peranbu (a Malayalam and Tamil bilingual), which stars Malayalam superstar Mammootty, Kaniha and Suraj Venjaramoodu.
Speaking to DC, an elated Anjali says, “I am portraying a unique character and I will be appearing throughout the movie alongside Mammootty sir. We have completed shooting and the dubbing is currently on. I am excited to see how Peranbu would be received in both Malayalam and Tamil as it would open up a huge market.”

When asked about pairing opposite Mammootty, she explains, “He extended his full support and encouraged me throughout the shoot. Acting with a legend is completely a learning experience for a novice like me.”
Elaborating on Anjali’s character, director Raam shares, “I wouldn’t be able to reveal more right now. Anjali’s character plays a vital role in the film and it will provide a new dimension to the story. The post-production is underway and we are looking forward to releasing the film soon.” Touted to be a drama film, Peranbu, whose music is by Yuvan Shankar Raja, was shot in Kodaikanal and Chennai.
