Honoured by Rajinikanth\'s praise - Vetri
Actor Vetri, who started with an award-winning film — 8 Thottakkal — consolidated his position with his second outing, Jiivi, which won critical acclaim too. Looks like 2020 is starting on a good note for the young actor, who has five films in his kitty, two ready for release.
“I have been getting many offers post my earlier hits. But I am careful in picking scripts as I want to be part of good films,” he says, starting a conversation with DC.
Talking about his upcoming flick Care of Kathal, he says, "It is a remake of Telugu hit Care of Kanchirapalem. I play a rugged guy named ‘Thaadi’. It is totally different from my previous films, where I was seen as a soft person. Mumtaz, who did Ritika's sister in IrudhiSuttru, plays my pair. Hemambar, a former assistant of Mani Ratnam Sir, directs the film.”
On Vanam (Forest), he says, “The movie on reincarnation is a quirky one. It’s a highly challenging role and Srikantham, who did Thappu Thanda, wields the megaphone. The climax fight which was shot in forest areas will be a talked-about one."
Vetri says that he considers it a big honour that Rajinikanth watched his cop film 8 Thottakkal and appreciated his performance. His other films include a thriller with a red sanders smuggling backdrop, alongside Guru Ramanujam.
