Soundararaja dons a khaki avatar
Actor Soundararaja is in an elated mood, with reason to rejoice! Even at this early stage in his career, the actor has got a chance to play a cop in his upcoming film Abhimanyu. Though his performance in the recent release Oru Kanavu Pola was appreciated by critics, unfortunately the movie could not get proper distribution and went unnoticed.
Talking about his police avatar, he tells DC, “I play an encounter specialist assistant commissioner Abhimanyu who uses his brain rather than brawn to solve the cases. Inspired by real-life incidences like the bank robbery and chain-snatching cases, the film has many intriguing twists and turns — and is being directed by debutant Shakthivel.”
On his preparations, he says, “I am meeting a few police officials and learning about their body language, how they hold the guns, etc. to get my act perfect. I have a friend Seemaraj who is a special inspector in Theni who has also assured that he would help in training me.”
Interestingly, Soundar does not have a pair in the film. “The script did not demand one,” he quips. Recently, a pilot video of the film was unveiled by IPS officer Asra Garg (known for his illustrious stint in Tamil Nadu before moving to the CBI).
