Kabali Talkies is a pure family entertainer
Model-turned-actress Meghana Ellen has bagged another meaty role after Uruthikol. Ace director Bala’s brother Chandramouli, who bankrolls the film, has roped her in for his flick titled Kabali Talkies.
The film has comedy actor Muruganandham, who made his debut in direction with a Vishnu Vishal film, as the protagonist. Cinematographer Ravi Srinivasan, who had assisted G.M. Kumar, wields the megaphone for the first time.
Talking to DC, Ravi said, “Kabali Talkies is a family entertainer. It is about a guy who wants to make it big in the film industry and struggles to achieve that. The movie begins in the ’80s and moves to contemporary times. In fact, the story and several scenes have been inspired by incidents in my own life. There are enough twists and turns.”
“I have shot the entire film in around Mandaveli and Mylapore areas in south Chennai and my art directors have recreated the ’80s and ’90s Madras so beautifully,” he reveals.
The supporting cast includes Bhagyaraj, G.M. Kumar, Velu Prabhakaran, Imman Annachi, Charlie and Madhan Bob. The Sabesh-Murali duo composes the music.
