Rumours are abuzz that Udhayanidhi Stalin, who wrapped up Manithan, the Tamil remake of Jolly LLB, and is currently working on a film with director Suseen thiran, is likely to be directed by Sasi of Pichaikaran-fame in a movie to be produced by Thenandal Films. When DC contacted Sasi, he told us, “Udhay watched the Vijay Antony-starrer Pichaikaran and tweeted positively about it. I spoke to him regarding that and thanked him. That’s about it. As of now, I am working on a script, and talks are on with a big banner. But I take my own time to work on any project. My priority has always been my convenience.”
Meanwhile, a little birdie informed us that the directorial opportunity was first offered to director Ashwin Saravanan, who helmed Maya; and only then the production house had approached Sasi. Ashwin said, “It was true that producer Murali approached me with the offer. But I didn’t know any details of the film, including whether Udhay was acting in it or not then. I couldn’t accept it because I was working already on another script.” However, official confirmation on the same is awaited!
