After delivering an impressive performance in Vijay Antony’s Kaali, actress Shilpa Manjunath has been roped in for a bubbly role in Ranjith Jayakodi’s next. Playing the lead protagonist in the film is none other than Harish Kalyan, who is still basking in the success of his recent release Pyaar Prema Kadhal (PPK).
Speaking to DC, Ranjith says, “It is an arrogant love story, and I have adopted a psychological approach to the screenplay. There’s also a travel segment in the story.”
The director discloses that he signed Harish Kalyan for the yet-untitled project even before the release of PPK. “A hero with a set image cannot do this film. I wanted someone fresh, someone without an image-trap, someone adaptable. And Harish fitted the role to a T. He plays Gautham, who is a biker and a passionate boxer with an aggressive personality. This movie will bring out yet another dimension of the versatile Harish.”
Talking about his choice of leading lady, Ranjith says, “We auditioned many actresses and finally chose Shilpa. She was also chosen before she made her debut in Kaali.” Apart from the lead pair, Ma Ka Pa Anand and Balasaravanan have also been cast in key roles.
The director promises that the movie will be visually stunning as a lot of pre-production work has been done on the look and feel of the film. “Music has also been given a lot of importance, and we’ve got composer Sam CS on board,” he adds.
