Vijay Sethupathi initiates Rathindran’s next
“It was Vijay Sethupathi, who initiated my next project with Karthikeyan Santhanam, which has Aishwarya Rajesh in the lead. And as reported by a few, Ashwin Kakamanu is not part of my mystery thriller,” Rathindran Prasad of Kodaikanal Won't fame tells DC in an exclusive on his upcoming flick.
Speaking about VSP, he said, “Postproduction for my debut big screen venture Idhu Vedhalm Sollum Kadhai, a travel adventure thriller based on mythological characters, is underway. Due to grandeur and VFX, it was taking a lot of time. Around the time, my good friend Vijay Sethupathi told me to start something else and asked me to meet Karthikeyan Santhanam, who heads Stone Bench. I met Karthikeyan casually with a different script. And I found him extremely professional and his approach toward production impressed me. Later, this new script which we planned to wrap up quickly and release early next year came up.”
On Aishwarya's role, he reveals, “Since she was my lead in IVSK, I felt she would be apt for this project. It is a mystery thriller with paranormal elements added to it. She essays a psychiatrist in the central character in whose point of view the story is narrated. A new guy will be playing opposite her. The movie is shot entirely in Nilgiris.”
On roping in Italian cinematographer Roberto Zazzara, he says, “He is part of IVSK. And for this venture, which has two timelines, we needed someone who has expertise in handling high-end cameras like ALEXA LF. He fitted the bill.”
Though there are no songs in the yet to be titled film presented by Karthik Subbaraj, BGM themes are very crucial. Prithvi Chandrasekar, an arranger with AR Rahman, is the composer.
