After the success of Thegidi, actress Janani Iyer turned her focus towards Malayalam films. Even though she has been receiving offers in Tamil, she wants to be choosy and pick interesting scripts. Now, after two years, she has four films in her kitty in Tamil, at different stages of production.
Ahead of the release of Adhe Kangal, Janani Iyer is elated. Speaking about her role in the film, she says, “I play Sadhana, a journalist for a Tamil magazine, and I am a childhood friend of the character Varun played by Kalaiarasan. Sshivada plays Deepa, a sales girl. Adhe Kangal, directed by Rohin, is a triangular love story and what happens when these three characters meet forms the crux.”
The Avan Ivan actress is a huge fan of Ghibran. “I’ve always wanted to work with Ghibran and his work in the film is exceptional. He churned out songs in different genres and out of the five numbers, Thandhiraa and Pona Pokkil are my favourites,” she quips.
Janani claims that the shooting spot of the film was always buzzing with people. “Since the film has a huge cast, it was a great experience. I have more scenes with Kalaiarasan and Bala Saravanan. Rohin is a debutant director, but he is extremely focussed. He made things easier for us and we had a ball of time, “she concludes. She also has Balloon with Jai, Thollakkatchi with Ashwin Kakumanu and Vidhi Madhi Ultaa with Rameez Raja.
