Riding high on the success of Pokkiri Raja, Sibiraj wants to explore all possible genres of films. Says Sibiraj, “I am on an experimentation spree, trying to choose characters that test my mettle. I want to be part of fresh thoughts and processes.”
Speaking about his next project, in which he is paired with Kaaka Muttai fame Aishwarya Rajesh, he tells us, “Manikandan, a former associate to Arivazhagan is directing this comedy entertainer. I am quite confident that this film will appeal to the audience because it is going to be along the lines of black comedy, such as Soodhu Kavvum and Neram. I play the role of an IT professional, however, it is too early to reveal what Aishwarya plays in the film. Naaigal Jaakirathai was loved by kids. Even this film will be, because this has a special element in it.”
We ask what made him say ‘yes’ to the script — “People are always waiting for different films and have always appreciated such efforts. When I choose a film, I should find something interesting in it for me as an actor,” he says. Interestingly, Sibiraj says, “I don’t know if other actors are competing with each other, but I am certainly not interested in such contests. Instead, I’m interested in the actual competitions — the ones between good films, and the ones between exciting themes. I am happy when movies succeed. I feel that I am growing as an actor with every new film.”
