Durai Sudhakar\'s tryst with a dog
Kalavani 2, where he essayed a role with negative shades, has given Durai Sudhakar the much-needed break. The actor who started as a hero in a film Thappattam where he played a folk artiste has bagged yet another big role as a baddie in a film called Danny, which revolves around a lead protagonist who is a cop and a Labrador dog. “I portray a sub-inspector with a shady background and the play between me and Varalaxmi Sarathkumar, who performs as my superior and is the lead lady in the female centric script, forms the rest,” says Sudhakar.
Directed by Santhanamoorthy, it is an action thriller with the dog playing a titular role. “At the outset, I did not realise the seriousness of working with a dog. I don't have a pet at home. The dog looks ferocious, but she was actually not. There are many scenes for me with Danny and initially, I was scared to go near her. There were times I felt if I could pull off the role. Thankfully, the director gave me lot of encouragement.”
