Sana Althaf comes to Kollywood
Mollywood actress Sana Althalf, after having acted with Dulquer Salmaan and Fahadh Faasil, is now gearing up for a dream debut in Tamil with Venkat Prabhu’s Chennai 600028: Second Innings. She is paired opposite Jai in this cricket based film. Opening up about her role, the 17-year-old says, “I play Anuradha and I would call it a bold role. Also, I won’t just be a glamorous addition to the cast and my role is significant to the story. I can’t think of a better Tamil film for my debut. The team shares great rapport and even though we have fun on the sets, the final output is even better.”
About managing her academics and films, she explains, “I acted in two Malayalam films and took a break for my exams. Because of the study break, I lost touch in acting. But Venkat Prabhu helped me regain confidence. Initially, my Tamil was extremely bad. I write my lines in Malayalam and take the help of prompting for difficult dialogue portions.”
Talking about her interests in films, she says, “Acting was never on my mind. My father, Althaf is a Malayalam film producer, and director Lal Jose asked me if I would be part of his flick. Till then, my concentration was on studies and karate!” About her future, Sana says, “I will be taking my board exams this March. I don’t intend to sign any scripts now. If anything great comes across, I might take it up.”
