Rum will give the audience an ultimate viewing experience
VFX supervisor of the heist-horror flick Rum, Sendil says for the first time in Tamil cinema, something different has been attempted by the technical crew! “We have tried shooting the whole film using a High Frame Rate (HFR), which refers to the use of a higher frame rate, than the typical 24 frames per second used in film cameras. It’s 48 frames per second! With HFR, the movie viewing experience will be immensely enhanced.
By doubling the number of frames used in each second of movie footage, motion in the image can look much smooth, sharper, and less juddery. Also the moving visuals in a frame look as crisp as static shots, and more realistic,” he says.
Sendil adds, “The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug, released in 2012, had this feature. After that, Rum is incorporating this. But we need to release the trailer first and see how it works because not all the theatres are equipped to play HFR.”
Produced by Vijay Raghavendra T and directed by Sai Bharath M, Rum has music by Anirudh Ravichander and has Sanchita Shetty, Mia George, Narain, and Vivekh in pivotal roles.
Hrishikesh, who played the docile brother of Dhanush in Velai Illa Pattadhari, turns into an independent hero with this film.
