Bobby Deol in Kanguva
The South seems to be Bobby Deol’s new happy hunting ground! After debuting in the region with the Telugu film Hari Hara Veera Mallu, a period drama starring Pawan Kalyan, Bobby has bagged another big- ticket flick. He has been cast as a baddie in the multi-lingual film Kanguva, starring Suriya, a Siruthai Siva directorial.
The film’s producer Gnanavel Raja wanted someone very muscular as antagonist, to be pitted against Suriya’s personality, and felt a fresh face like Bobby would give the role credibility. “Bobby has never tried such a role so far. The character offers him a different set of challenges from the usual. From his look to his body language, he will go for a makeover,” says a source, adding, “in all probability, Bobby will join the sets of the film in the August schedule in Bangkok.”
Meanwhile, the makers of the film have shot for around 110 days and have another one-and-a-half months of shooting left. There are high expectations from the film which will showcase Suriya in a new avatar.
