Rajini hands over house keys to Gaja victims
On returning from a rest and rejuvenation trip to the Himalayas, Rajini was back in action, not for a film but to complete his humane act of building houses for victims of the Cyclone Gaja in the State. On Monday, the Superstar handed over house keys to Gaja victims.
Rajini had announced last year that the Rajini Makkal Mandram would construct houses for those who were affected during the Gaja Cyclone in Nagapattinam district. The beneficiaries were today given the keys at the star's residence in Poes Garden in the city.
Concrete houses measuring 218 square feet were constructed at a cost of `1.85 lakh each. Cyclone Gaja crossed the coast of Nagapattinam on November 16, 2018 leaving more than 50 people dead and rendering many homeless. Apart from the construction of the houses, members of the RMM were also involved in rehabilitation of the areas affected by the cyclone and distributed relief materials.
