I'm lucky to be a part of Vijay 60: Roshan Basheer
Roshan Basheer, who played a negative role in Kamal Haasan’s Papanasam, is on cloud nine! In what is only his third film in Tamil, the young actor is teaming up with none other than Ilayathalapathy Vijay for Vijay 60. Interestingly, Roshan is also playing an Ilayathalapathy fan in the movie Moondru Rasigargal, which is set to release in June. The stylish actor shares his excitement with DC and speaks about his aspirations and future projects.
“When Bharathan sir called me to his office and explained my role in the film, I immediately gave my nod. I didn’t want to miss the chance of acting alongside one of my favourite actors. I’m lucky to be a part of Vijay 60,” starts Roshan on an exuberant note. The Drishyam actor also says that the film will be a perfect launch pad for him to establish himself in Tamil. “I’m playing a character completely different to Papanasam. Though I can’t reveal more, all I can say is that I play a college student and my role will aid to the suspense element in the film.”
Roshan, who will also be shaking a leg with Vijay in a song, can’t stop raving about his idol. “I had a half an hour interaction with Vijay sir and he was very down to earth. I learnt a lot. It still feels surreal!” he exclaims. Shifting focus on his upcoming movie, he says, “Moondru Rasigargal has shaped up very well and as it will be releasing on Vijay sir’s birthday, it will be a treat for his fans.”
On a concluding note, Roshan gave tidbits about his next project. “I don’t wish to restrict myself to one particular language. Hence, my next film is in Telugu. I play one of the leads and it will be a suspense thriller,” he signs off.
