Two icons of Indian cinema — Rajinikanth and Kamal Haasan — spent some memorable minutes together on the sets of their respective films after a span of 21 years. The duo had earlier met on the sets while shooting for Baba and Panchatanthiram respectively in 2002.
Rajinikanth, engaged in the shooting of his latest venture, Thalaivar 170, under the direction of Gnanavel, was on location at Prasad Studios in Chennai. Filming for Kamal Haasan’s Indian 2, directed by Shankar, was underway in an adjacent set. Learning that Kamal was nearby, Rajinikanth expressed his intention of visiting the Indian 2 set. However, upon hearing of this, Kamal decided to take the initiative, saying, “I will go and meet my friend on his sets”, and surprised the superstar. After sharing a warm embrace, the long-time friends reminisced about their journeys in the film industry and discussed upcoming projects.
While Subaskaran is producing Thalaivar 170, he is co-producing Indian 2.
