Folk music experts Senthil Ganesh and his wife Rajalakshmi are going places. After winning the recently-concluded reality show Super Singer, Senthil has been offered an opportunity to sing in one of A.R. Rahman’s upcoming films. And the latest we hear is that composer Amrish has roped in the popular jodi to sing the folk song ‘Chinna Machchan’ for the Prabhu Deva-starrer Charlie Chaplin 2. Interestingly, the couple has already made this folk number popular through their stage performances across Tamil Nadu.
Apart from Prabhu Deva and veteran actor Prabhu, who were a part of the first film in the series, Charlie Chaplin 2 features Nikki Galrani and Adah Sharma as the female leads.
Talking about the movie, director Shakthi Chidambaram says, “It’s a fun-filled family entertainer about Prabhu Deva and Nikki Galrani, who are to get married at Tirupati. The couple’s families are on their way to the temple town when they encounter some unanticipated events. The rest of the story is told in a side-splitting manner.”
The director also says that the energetic folk song sung by Senthil and Rajalakshmi, which has been picturised on Prabhu Deva and Nikki Galrani, is a sure-shot chartbuster. The sequence was shot in Pollachi over a period of five days.
