Busy Aishwarya Rajesh has no time for role in Indian 2
Aishwarya Rajesh has opted out of Shankar directed Kamal Haasan’s biggie Indian 2. When the sequel to the earlier blockbuster with the same name was announced, besides the names of Kajal Agarwal and Rakul Preet Singh, Aishwarya’s also came up with the news that she would play a pivotal role. Interacting with the press at the promo meet of Mei, the actress said, “I had call sheet problems and could not accommodate the dates the production house wanted for Indian 2.”
However, she feels it was unfortunate to let go a film in ace Shankar’s direction. Priya Bhavani Shankar has been roped in her place as Aishwarya has a handful of films in Tamil and Telugu. Aishwarya revealed that she was not part of Mani Ratnam’s magnum opus Ponniyin Selvan either. “It was Mani sir who after casting me in Chekka Chivantha Vaanam offered me his next production venture Vaanam Kottatum. I play Vikram Prabhu’s sister in VK, which is a crucial character.”
On Kanaa, where she gave a critically acclaimed performance but which was not considered for national honour, she says, “Yes, it is sad that Kanaa didn’t fetch an award. But, I was not upset. However, it gives me immense happiness when people and audiences raised the issue of Kanaa deserving an award.
