As reported earlier, director Sundar C, who was supposed to work on his ambitious project Sangamithra, has now pushed it to next year due to undisclosed reasons. Meanwhile, the director is all set to helm the sequel to his hit film Kalakalappu that starred actors Shiva, Vemal, Anjali, Oviya and Santhanam.
However, it looks like Kalakalappu 2 is going to be made in a grand scale in terms of cast as well as production value. The makers have roped in actors Jai and Jiiva to play the lead roles. Actress Nikki Galrani, who is awaiting the release of Hara Hara Mahadevaki, has been signed on as one of the female leads. “I’ve signed Kalakalappu 2 and we’re starting the shoot on October 4. I will also be joining the team from the very first schedule. It is going to be a laughter-riot with Jiiva and Jai. I’m really looking forward to have a great time at the shooting spot,” Nikki Galrani tells DC.
Also, a source close to the team reveals that Oviya was also approached for the flick to play one of the female leads. However, she hasn’t signed any film that has been offered to her till date. Now, actress Catherine Tresa’s name is being tossed around. An official announcement regarding the movie will be out soon.
