Actor Rajkamal’s silver screen venture Melnaattu Marumagan, which is lying in the cans for long due to various reasons, is finally seeing the light of the day. The film, directed by Shahjahan, has French model Andrean making her debut in a Tamil movie.
It’s a story of a tourist guide from Mahabali-puram, who is bent upon marrying a foreigner as he is fond of fair skin and also assumes he would have better fortunes in future. But does that work?
When many actresses from Bollywood or even Malayalam hesitate to dub their own voice, Andrean who lives in Puducherry for many years, has dubbed for herself.
Since she portrays a French-Indian character in the movie, she says she could relate to it. “I know Tamil to some extent. Hence, I agreed to to dub. I am happy it has turned out so well and appreciated by my team,” Andrean quips.
The film is scheduled to release by the end of December. The interesting aspect is that, according to the makers, Melnaattu…. will be released in France as well as in 30 other screens.
