MGR belonged to golden era of Tamil films, says CM
“Actors should not encourage and be part of films which hail bad habits. Even filmmakers have such responsibilities. Make films like how legendary MGR did, inculcating good habits. MGR’s period is considered as the golden era in Tamil cinema,” remarked CM Edappadi K. Palaniswami at an event to celebrate the hat-trick success of LKG, Comali and Puppy bankrolled by Vel’ Film International. He added that he was happy that Tamil films with quirky content are shining at international arena.
The CM presented shields to the cast and crew of all three films including producer Ishari Ganesh, Jayam Ravi, Kajal Agarwal, Samyukta Hegde, Pradeep Ranganathan, Hip Hop Adhi, RJ Balaji, Priya Anand, Varun among others.
Minister for information and publicity Kadambur Raju was also present on the occasion. Vels future movies including Dhanush’s Enai Noki Paayum Thota (as a distributor), Jiiva’s Seeru, Mirchi Shiva’s Sumo, Gautham Menon’s directorial Joshua, RJ Balaji’s Mookkuthi Amman were announced.
