She’s back — nearly three years after she first raised the temperature inside theatre halls with her Stylish Tamizhachi avatar, and took Thala on, sending audiences into a dizzy. Akshara Gowda has never been away from the spotlight since though; be it her link-ups with other celebs or photoshopped picture scandals. But now, the femme fatale is back in the news for the right reasons.
“Yes, I’m currently in Chennai shooting for Maayavan, which is a sci-fi flick. I play a small, but intense role in it; a girl whose attitude gets her into a dilemma and how the hero, played by Sundeep Kishan, gets embroiled in it. It’s not a full-on glam cameo, but of course I get to showcase some style — can you imagine me playing a good, family girl? Haha!” laughs Akshara, who’s also in talks for a couple of other Tamil projects and a Malayalam film as well.
The actress has long since dispelled rumours of her dating cricketer Yuvraj Singh — and now that the latter’s marriage to Hazel Keech is impending, Akshara says she still shares a great friendship with the sportsman — “We were just laughing about it last week, when we met! I’m even going to attend his wedding and have a ball. You know, it’s about time I got linked to another guy already, don’t you think? I’m single and hot — so I definitely deserve someone famous and hotter, to get people talking! Soon.”
