Sivakarthikeyan has confirmed his collaboration with renowned filmmaker A.R. Murugadoss, a union that was earlier hinted at. The formal announcement came on Murugadoss's 49th birthday (25th September).
“Sir, I’m extremely delighted to join you for my 23rd film, and my excitement has doubled after hearing your narration. This film promises to be special for me in every aspect, and I can hardly wait to begin,” Siva posted on X. This is the first time Siva and Murugadoss are teaming up as actor and director.
Murugadoss had earlier penned the storyline and co-produced Sivakarthikeyan’s 2014 sports comedy, Maan Karate. While no details of the cast and crew have been announced, insiders say discussions are underway with Mrunal Thakur, of Sita Ramam fame, for the female lead role. ARM is returning from a three-year break. His last directorial effort, the Rajinikanth-starring Darbar, had a lukewarm reception. Meanwhile, Siva is busy with his sci-fi venture Ayalaan, and other projects. The upcoming project is billed as an action-packed entertainer produced by Sri Lakshmi Movies.
