Pranitha plays a girl-next-door in Enakku Vaitha Adimaigal
Pranitha Subhash, who was last seen in Suriya’s Masss, is paired opposite Jai in the soon-to-be-released Enakku Vaitha Adimaigal. The Saguni actress, in a freewheeling chat with DC, opens up about the upcoming film, it’s director Mahendran Rajamani, her tryst with Tamil and more...
“Enakku Vaitha Adimaigal is basically an out-of-the-box script in terms of its storyline. It is actually situation-driven, to be more specific. It has relatable characters too, like someone who is always in the middle of a breakup!” she starts.
Revealing more about her role, she adds, “I am playing a very sweet girl-next-door character in the film. She works in an IT firm, and has her own gang in the office. Basically, a typical urban girl kind of role.”
Pranitha is in awe of the pace at which EVA’s director works — “He is someone who is quick and very soft on the sets. These are the two words that come to mind when I think of him. From script narration to changing the location for the shots, he is very swift. His pace is very different from the other kinds of filmmakers I have seen so far.”
On Jai, she says, “His style of acting is pretty distinct, and his voice is one thing that’s very unique. He is young, like the rest of the crew. It is always fun working with a young team.”
When probed if her Tamil has improved, she says, “I can pretty much understand the language by now. In terms of talking, I would say I am past the ‘Konjam konjam theriyum’ phase! I can now speak more than that. I’ve gotten even better in Telugu and understand about 90 per cent of the language. I am still working on my Tamil though.” Pranitha also has another Tamil film in her kitty, titled Gemini Ganeshanum Sooruli Rajanum.
