After being cleared of spot-fixing charges, former cricketer Sreesanth has taken a whole new avatar of an actor with films like Cabaret in B’town and Team 5, which is on bike racing. Nikki Galrani, who is busy with a handful of Tamil flicks will be seen alongside Sreesanth in Team 5, directed by Suresh Govind.
Nikki who started her career with a Malayalam film and is considered as a ‘lucky mascot’, says Team 5 is a commercial entertainer. “While Sreesanth essays a biker, I play the HR in a company which sponsors his sports competition. She is a simple girl-next-door, and over a period of interaction, they start liking each other.”
On Sreesanth, she quips, “I know him from childhood when he was in Bengaluru. In fact he has seen me growing up. He was my sister’s friend! I never thought Sree would debut with me. Suddenly, when I realised that I have signed a film with him, I had mixed feelings initially although it was a coincidence. It was a new experience working with someone whom you know from childhood!” Produced by Raj Zachariah, the movie will be released in three languages in Tamil, Telugu and Malayalam.
