Venkat Prabhu’s Chennai 600028: Second Innings is having a dream run at the box-office despite demonitisation and several other issues. The film was appreciated for its realistic portrayal of gully cricket. In fact, it has a new admirer in none other than ICC Cricketer of the Year, Ravichandran Ashwin!
He got nostalgic when he watched the film. An elated Ashwin posted, “What a wonderful movie Chennai 28(2), completely put my life on rewind mode. Genuinely felt I could have been a part of it.” (sic)
In reply to Ashwin’s tweet, Venkat Prabhu stated that he missed casting the bowler in his film. He further added that he would cast him in the third part of the same film. If a sequel materialises, then it would be great to see the ‘actor’ in Ash, indeed!
