Thanks to the success of his last film Mannar Vagaiyara, Vemal is one of the busiest actors in K'town with half-a-dozen movies in his kitty. He has signed yet another comedy caper with director Suraaj. And comedian Vadivelu is back in a full-length comedy role parallel to Vemal. “It will be on the lines of Suraaj's earlier movie Marudhamalai with Arjun where Vadivelu’s comedy was a highpoint. Both Vemal and Vadivelu will be seen as cops in the film,” says an informed source. Talks are on to finalise the other cast members and technicians for the yet to be titled movie.
The actor has been choosy when it comes to selecting scripts. Vemal has signed a movie with director Ezhil again after their collaboration in Desingu Raja. He also has a film with Vasanthamani, Majid and Bhoopathy Pandian. The Manjapaistar is in the wrap stage of his upcoming movie Kaani Rasi with Varalaxmi.
After the film strike was called off, Vemal has begun the shoot of his most anticipated flick Kalavaani 2, a sequel to his earlier hit with Sargunam. “The days of the strike were a real break as I would be shooting continuously for my upcoming flicks for the next one year,” Vemal reveals.
