Actress Varalaxmi Sarathkumar who has a slew of films ready for release has signed yet another flick which will have Vimal as the hero. Reportedly, the film has been titled Kaadhal Mannan, which is the title of Thala Ajith’s yesteryear blockbuster. Muthukumar, a former associate of Sundar C, directs the movie.
Talking to DC, Varu says, “When Muthukumar sir narrated the story, I was very impressed. It is a fun-filled entertainer and a rom-com set in a rural milieu at Thenkasi. I am looking forward to it. It is heartwarming to be offered with different types of roles in my upcoming flicks.”
Vimal was last seen in Maapla Singam in 2016. His much-publicised film Rendavadhu Padam is waiting to see the light of the day. However, his yet another action–comedy Mannar Vagera is in the last stages of production.
On the other hand, Varu is busy with Vikram Vedha, Nibunan with Arjun, Vargam with RK Suresh, Sathya with Sibi, and Vishal’s Sandakozhi 2, where she is allegedly playing a role with grey shades. She is equally involved in social activism for women’s safety through her ‘Save Sakthi’ campaign.
Meanwhile, with her passion for dance and theatre, the Thaarai Thappattai actress says that she is happy to go back to her roots. “I will be doing a live performance on-stage titled Romeo Juliet, along with Salsa Mano, to the chartbuster hit romantic songs composed by none other than Oscar winner AR Rahman sir.”
