Director Ram refrains from giving glycerin during the emotional scenes, says actress Lissy Antony, while speaking about her role in Taramani.
In an interview with DC, she shares about her film journey. “Though we belong to Kerala, I was born and brought up in Chennai. My dad was working in the Navy in electrical department and after several deliberations, I joined the Navy and travelled to several places including Ethiopia, which gave me noteworthy experiences. When I returned to India, I met Ram sir, who cast me in the role of Stella miss in Thanga Meenkal. The role was appreciated so well that people started calling me Stella miss! I did not expect this kind of response and in the process, I completed 15 films now. Once again Taramani has given me attention,” she explains.
She adds, “I accepted Taramani’s offer instantly. I have immense faith in Ram sir and even a small character in his film would be noticed well. He would not allow us to use glycerin in emotional scenes, instead, he would ask, ‘Can you recall an aggressive or angry moment from your life and cry?’ That would be enough for us to tap the right emotion.”
Lissy aspires to take up characters that are meaty and impactful. Her kitty is full with five films including Mammootty starrer Paeranbu, Soo Mandirakaali, Pariyerum Perumal in Maari Selvaraj’s direction, an untitled film with Moodar Kodam fame Tony, among others.
