Kathir plays a female in Sigai
Actor Kathir, last seen in a small yet impactful role in Vijay Sethupathi's Vikram Vedha, is eagerly awaiting his upcoming flick Sigai in which he plays a female. The actor who has gone into experimental mode even at his initial stage has signed yet another film which is based on a true incident that shook the state recently. The movie is directed by debutant Ranjith Kanna who assisted Prabhakaran of Mannar Valaikuda fame.
Talking to DC, Kathir, who has been constantly choosing challenging roles says, "It is about a boy who is forced to come to the city after he faces a major problem. The predicament he come across and how he tackles the situation forms the crux." Though he was not willing to give out the details of the sensational incident on which the movie is centred, our sources say that the untitled film has a farmer's issue as the backdrop.
Ranjith Kanna reveals that a 'Rekla race' will be the highlight of the film and talked about one after Vijayakanth's Uzhavan Magan. Kathir is now busy with quite a few films in his kitty including Pa. Ranjith's Pariyerum Perumal and Chathru.
