Another first for Santhanam now!
Santhanam is attempting a ‘mass’ dance number, Sivan Maganda, for the first time in his career for Dhilukku Dhuttu, in which he plays the hero. It appears that the comedian-turned-hero has also been smitten by the horror genre, and that is precisely what this film is all about!
Directed by Ram Bala of Lollu Sabha fame, it has Mumbai model Shanaya as Santhanam’s pair. Bollywood actor-filmmaker Saurabh Shukla, who was last seen in Shankar’s Anniyan, has been roped in for a vital role.
Talking about Santhanam’s new look, Ram Bala says,
“Santhanam has undergone a complete makeover, and is sporting a neatly-trimmed beard. For the first time, Santi will be shaking a leg for a ‘mass’ number, titled Sivan Maganda. Choreographer Ashok Raja, known for his high-octane steps in most of Vijay’s flicks, is the dance master for this devotional number. The sequence required 100 dancers and 400 junior artistes, with veteran singer Sirgazhi Sivachidambaram rendering the number under Thaman’s music direction. All of them had to pierce their cheeks and body with spears and hooks, as an offering to the Lord.”
“Santhanam underwent rehearsals, and ended up doing the dance number effortlessly,” adds Ram Bala.
Ananda Raj, Karunas, Mottai Rajendran are also part of the movie, which is produced by Sri Thenandal Films.
