My children are worth any battle I have to fight, says Jayam Ravi

Reports have surfaced that Jayam Ravi and his spouse Aarti have decided to end their 15-year-old marriage. In the midst of legal tussle, the Thani Oruvan star has talked about how he is fighting for the custody of his two sons, Aarav and Ayaan. In a recent interview with Jayam Ravi did not shy away from revealing that he is prepared to win the child custody battle for as long the battle goes by stating I will fight for.

Citing the example of his kids, Ravi urged the people that his kids are everything to him, and they are his tomorrow and even his joy. "I want to keep my two babies—Aarav and Ayaan. I will fight this case for the next 10 years or twenty years or however long it will take to see me in court and fight this divorce. Children are my future; they are my joy," the actor stated. He further stated that he hopes to produce a film with his son Aarav and hopes to get him into films when the right time comes.

In the course of the interview, Aarti's relationship history with Ravi and the times, if any, they were in touch after the divorce announcement were probed. He made it clear that this was the case, as he has made everything official for the divorce, and banned her from all communications. If Aarti wanted to make peace with him, then she would have answered his legal notices. He questioned her intentions saying, “Does this behavior look like she wanted to reconcile with me? Such a ‘girlfriend’ would not feature if the intention was to reconcile anyway, so would there be news?”

In addition, there was hearsay about Ravi being in a relationship with Kenishaa Francis, which he pretty much addressed up to the point of denying it. He said that it was only for business reasons as the two wanted to open a spiritual healing center. He stressed that Kenishaa had nothing to do with his divorce which damaged him and his family’s image quite much since it didn’t concern his wife.

In spite of personal troubles, Jayam Ravi and Aarti are willing to part ways with each other and the children will be the crux of legal wrangling that will ensue.

Jayam Ravi and his wife Aarti have been married for 15 years and are currently headed for a divorce. While the legal battle is still on, the Thani Oruvan actor has revealed how he is fighting for the custody of their two sons, Aarav and Ayaan. In a recent interview with Hindustan Times, Jayam Ravi voiced his wish to get custody, saying there is no limit as to how long he will battle for the cause.

Ravi brought up his fatherly instincts towards his kids, them being his life, and his joy. “I should get custody of my children, Aarav and Ayaan. I am ready to fight this court case for as long as seven or 10 or even 20 years if I have to, to win this divorce. The children are my future. They are my joy,” stated the actor. He also shared his wish of releasing a film along with his son Aarav when he becomes of age to understand the world of films.

Because Aarti and Ravi knew each other before the divorce announcement, Ravi was also asked whether they had been in touch after the divorce announcement as well. He made it clear that there is no turning back on the divorce and further opined that, had Aarti wished to come back to him, she would have replied to his legal notices. He inquired of her motivations, “Does this behavior look like she wanted to reconcile with me? Would there be a report about a ‘girl friend’ if the purpose was to defend and reunite from the divorce?”

On top of that, Ravi restrained himself from concerns regarding the relationship with Kenishaa Francis that most writers have him in. He maintained that such a relationship is purely for business as they were on the plans of opening a centre for spiritual healing. He maintained that Kenishaa did not feature anywhere in the divorce, which was detrimental to his and his family’s image.

It is in spite of these difficult situations that Jayam Ravi and Aarti are both moving on with the divorce, even if it means that legal arrangements will have to be made over who gets custody of the children.
