Rajinikanth’s Thalapathi to re-release in theatres
Thalapathi’s re-release is all set for December 12, 2024, on the occasion of Rajinikanth’s 74th birthday. Several fans across the nation ruined the birthday of Rajinikanth as they flocked the theatres to watch the movie Thalapathi and grief-stricken the longstanding followers of Rajinikanth who were absent from the theatres. This will be the day when they are likely to see Thalapathi on a wholesome basis with respect for the beloved actor.
In the last few decades, in several of his films, Rajinikanth plays the role of a rebel, inspired by the Indian epic, Mahabharata. An adopted orphan who is later introduced as an elder brother to the infamous gangster, Duryodhana, who tries to unveil fresh perspectives of various events that take place from Duriyodhana’s viewpoint. The story depicted in the movie is stunning, as are the characters and plot. Thalapathi’s connections with Mani Ratnam, his followers, and the production team made the project a success, much to the delight of Rajinikanth fans.
The storyline of Surya, who lost everything in the struggle to live as a child born in the slums but fights bravely against cruelty, is so intoxicating that even after several years, audiences continue to be very moved by the character and it stays as the film’s USP.
Rajinikanth has worked most recently in the Vettaiyan movie in which he played the lead role in a film directed by TJ Gnanavel. Gnanavel’s told focus was on an encounter specialist’s struggle of guilt after killing an innocent person during the hunt of a murderer.
Presently, the actor is getting ready for Coolie which was directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj. The movie also stars Nagarjuna Akkineni, Soubin Shahir, Upendra and others in leading roles and is set to be released in May 2025.
