Not Siddharth but this actor was the first choice for Indian 2?

Unfortunately, India’s much-awaited sequel by S.Shankar was released earlier this year in July known as it seemed below par. The film, which is the next chapter after an iconic movie of 1996, features a star-studded cast consisting of actors such as Kamal Haasan, Nedumudi Venu, S J Suryah, Rakul Preet Singh, Bobby Simha and Priya Bhavani Shankar. However, the movie was panned by both audiences and critics despite its star power.

One of the prominent roles in Indian 2 was that of Chithra Aravindhan played by Siddharth. This marked Siddharth's second collaboration with director Shankar after their previous film together in 2003 called Boys. Recent reports indicate that Siddharth was not always meant to play this role. According to a portal, Shankar first approached Kollywood actor Sivakarthikeyan for this role but the Maaveeran star declined because he had other commitments.

Indian 2 has been in the making for years since it was initially announced back in September 2017. The film finally hit the screens in July after a long production process but did not receive a great response from people. Nevertheless, they have confirmed that Indian 3 will be released by them as well even if fans were disappointed with the outcome. According to Shankar’s revelations, much of the third part was shot alongside Indian 2, with only twenty-five days more required for completion of shooting. Indian 3 is expected to go deeper into the Indian freedom struggle movement during the 1890s and one specific character will be played by Kajal Aggarwal.

Simultaneously, Siddharth is expected to be involved in several other projects such as the upcoming sports movie Test, where he will be among the main actors like Nayanthara, R. Madhavan and Meera Jasmine. Furthermore, he will be seen in N. Rajasekar’s film Miss You.

On the other hand, Sivakarthikeyan was last seen in the science fiction movie Ayalaan earlier this year. His next big project is a biopic called Amaran, directed by Rajkumar Periasamy and starring Sai Pallavi as Major Mukund Varadarajan. The film has been scheduled for release on October 31st. Additionally, he has signed up for his 23rd film currently goes by the working title ‘SK23’ which will be helmed by veteran director AR Murugadoss with Rukmini Vasanth playing a female lead character along with a cast of various stars.
