Kottukkaali (also known as The Adamant Girl) by Soori and Anna Ben will be in the cinemas on 23rd August 2024. Furthermore, there is a new thrilling trailer that has been released by the moviemakers which has only increased excitement and made this situation far more puzzling.
When PS Vinothraj directed Kottukkaali, it received high praise after being chosen to screen at the Berlin International Film Festival on February 16, 2024. Moreover, Sivakarthikeyan produces this film under his own company thereby increasing eagerness for its launch.
At the beginning of the trailer, Soori and two friends are accosted by the police for driving together on a motorcycle. In brief, they are headed to see an exorcist because they think Soori's sister is possessed by ghosts. Additionally, we witness Anna Ben riding silently in an auto-rickshaw at this point she looks like she is lost somewhere thinking about life.
As regards to the rest of the plot in the trailer, Meena who was a member of Anna’s family is depicted as having demonic spirits within her body. To show how much they feel trapped with her Meena’s character is symbolically linked to a cockerel that carries around stones on it inviting various chaotic scenes during the process of eviction from evil spirits. Also, reoccurring sound of cock crowing adds urgency and suspense to storyline.
Anna Ben plays Meena in Kottukkaali; she is a young woman deeply in love with a man from another cast. However, her family mistakes it for possession and so tries to find medicine men instead . The leading role Paandi played by Soori who had done very well alongside Jawahar Sakthi playing Meena’s Brother has also been hailed as one of his best performances.
Recently he appeared opposite M Sasikumar and Unni Mukundan in Garudan which was directed by Durai Senthilkumar, an action film based on a story by Vetrimaaran. He is also going to make an appearance in Viduthalai Part 2.
