South Stars Who Donated Money For Wayanad Flood Victims


Numerous celebs have stood up to help the victims of the devastating landslides at Wayanad in Kerala. Tamil actors Suriya and Vikram, Malayalam actors Mammootty, Dulquer Salmaan, Fahadh Faasil, Nazriya and others have together donated lakhs of rupees to the Kerala Chief Minister’s Distress Relief Fund (CMDRF).

A donation of Rs 20 lakh was made by Tamil actor Vikram in order to assist the victims while his manager Yuvraaj took to social media to reveal it thereby expressing Vikram’s condolences about the tragic happening that resulted into more than 150 deaths leaving around 197 injured and several more still missing.

In addition, Malayalam superstar Mammootty and his son Dulquer Salmaan also donated Rs 35 lakh to the relief fund. For example, he said “Right now I have made a small contribution towards the relief measures. If there is any further need I will make my contributions.” This is because they require our support and it is everyone’s duty too.

Similarly, life partner actors Fahadh Faasil and Nazriya Nazim too contributed Rs 25 lakh. They also issued a statement saying their hope lies on this money doing more good for those so much in need.” “Our thoughts are with them as they go through this tough time,” they wrote. We can stay strong together.”

A sum of Rs 50 lakh was collectively donated by Tamil cinema power couple Suriya and Jyotika; plus Surya’s brother Karthi gave Rs 10 lakh while Rashmika Mandanna gave Rs 10 lakh.

The hills were hit by three landslides after persistent rains causing massive destruction at Wayanad district in Kerala. It led to the death of hundreds and scores injured with many still unaccounted for. The operations to rescue those trapped and recover the missing persons are ongoing.

This help by these stars shows how important it is to stand in unity and work together as a community during crises. Their donations to Kerala Chief Minister’s Distress Relief Fund will however aid in providing relief and rehabilitation to affected families.
