Tamil actress Radikaa opens up on caravans with hidden cameras

Radikaa Sarathkumar has recently come forward with a disturbing story related to the Malayalam film industry after the report of the Justice Hema Committee which has unearthed many instances of sexual harassment in the industry. Radikaa disclosed that when she was at work in the state of Kerala, she noticed the use of concealed surveillance devices within the vanity units, used by male crew members to film women changing. As per the actress, there are large databases where these recordings are kept with access to specific videos merely by entering the name of the artiste.

Radikaa spoke about it during an interview with Asianet News’ Namaste Kerala. There was this one time when she was on set and a few people gathered around a video laughing. As they inquired further, she was shocked to find out that the footage was of a woman who was too caught up in the act of changing clothes for the camera and wasn’t cognizant of the fact that there were hidden relays in the room. ‘I was told it is easy that I should just type the name of the artiste, and I would easily get a video of her changing dress. I saw the video.’ Radikaa said.

Though the actress avoided exposing the venue or the persons or any other detail of the matter, she still uttered her feelings of anger and fear. ‘If we spit looking up, it will fall on our face only I do not intend to name anybody now so I do not pose a risk about it.’ She was speaking about the matter with the necessary tact, aware of the consequences of calling such individuals and their action out.

Radikaa also shared her feelings immediately after she found the camera “very angry” and said she didn’t want to return to her vanity van which is supposed to be a secured area for change, relaxation or eating for actors. Then she alerted the other female artists of the sneaky cameras and opened the argument to the crew and demanded something to be done. She was calmed that the crew was going to: “…see to it” But then event managed to rattle her However, this incident managed to rattle her.
