Vijay Sethupathi refuses to play father in RC 16
Tamil star Vijay Sethupathi who is basking in the massive success of Maharaja, has reportedly declined to play the role of a father in Ram Charan’s upcoming film with director Buchi Babu. “Vijay Sethupathi told makers that he already played a father role in Maharaja and also played ruthless father to Krithi Shetty in Uppena, so he didn’t want to be typecast. Hence he declined the offer from Buchi Babu,” says a source from Chennai.
The makers reportedly roped in Kannada superstar Shivraj Kumar to play the all-important role. “Shivaraj also has the stature to play significant roles and agreed to work with Ram Charan, Janhvi Kapoor and others,” the source points out.
“Vijay is quite clear about his choices and despite being offered big money, he wasn’t tempted and just thumbed it down since he wanted to do something different in Telugu and was waiting for it,” the source adds.
Vijay Sethupathi has delivered the biggest hit of his career with Maharaja and would like to essay protagonist roles in the days to come. Maharaja was a sensational hit even in Telugu. His fanbase is rising.
Vijay Sethupathi made his debut in Telugu with Uppena and showcased his acting brilliance as a ruthless feudal lord who is obsessed with the caste system and family’s pride.
