As part of its Lok Gatha initiative—dedicated to preserving and promoting tribal and folk traditions—the NCPA presents Lavani Ke Rang, an evening curated by Bhushan Korgaonkar. A researcher, writer, and theatre practitioner, Korgaonkar has been working with Lavani artists since 2002, leading to his award-winning book and acclaimed production Sangeet Bari. Through this performance at the NCPA, he continues his work of bringing traditional Sangeet Bari artists to the forefront, reclaiming Lavani’s deep-rooted cultural significance and showcasing its modern-day perception.

Featuring award-winning artists such as Sangeet Natak Akademi recipient Shakuntalabai Nagarkar, Lavani Ke Rang blends powerful storytelling with electrifying music and dance, presenting folk traditions in their most authentic form. With dialogues in Hindi and songs in Marathi and Hindi, this performance is both a tribute and a revelation.
