Even before entering the film industry as a music director with Sameer Thahir’s debut directorial venture Chappa Kurish, Rex Vijayan was a noted figure across the music scence as a guitarist. It was his performances for the music bands such as Avial and Motherjane that made him popular in music circles.
After entering as an M’town music composer with Chappa Kurish, he composed tracks for movies like 22 Female Kottayam, Neelakasham Pachakadal Chuvanna Bhoomi, Saptamashree Thaskaraha and Second Show. The latest news is that Rex has been signed to compose tracks for actor Soubin Shahir’s debut directorial venture Parava, which will be produced by director Anwar Rasheed for Anwar Rasheed entertainments and Shyju Unni.
Anwar says that Rex will set tune for the sound tracks which will be written by actor-singer Shabareesh Varma. It is for the second time both Shabareesh and Rex are collaborating with Anwar’s venture. While Shabareesh had written lyrics for Anwar’s previous production venture Premam, Rex was the one who set background score for Bridge, directed by Anwar in Kerala Café.
