Collector Bro' on silver screen
The sobriquet ‘Collector Bro’ hasn’t got another taker even as N. Prasanth no longer holds the portfolio of the district collector of Kozhikode. The compassionate bureaucrat sent out a friendly vibe with his constant interactions on social media, spearheading creative welfare initiatives. For those who have missed their ‘bro’ for the last few months, there is good news. We’ll soon get to see him on the big screen as an actor. Prasanth is playing a pivotal role in the upcoming crime thriller Who, directed by debutant Ajay Devaloka.
“It’s a powerful character. Dr Samuel from NIMHANS interprets people’s dreams. I can’t reveal much as it is a suspense thriller,” says Prasanth. As we all know, his dalliance with filmdom is not new. Prasanth has scripted director Anil Radhakrishnan Menon’s latest and yet-to-be-released Diwanji Moola Grand Prix. Earlier, he directed the short film Karuna Cheyvan, a Government of Kerala production.
“I’m a behind-the-camera guy basically, with scripting and direction being my interest. This time I took up the role because of the interesting script, the director and the team being close to me. I had turned down requests to act in three mainstream movies before as they were not interesting,” he explains. Prasanth was later named as the director of Higher Secondary Education. Who’s cast also comprise Shine Tom Chacko, Rajeev Pillai, Pearle Maaney and Shruthy Menon.
