It was 20 years ago he started his career as a filmmaker with Jayaram starrer Puthukottayile Puthumalavan after creating many hits in the role of screenwriter. Raffi, who called shots for almost 10 films along with his friend Mecartin under the name Raffi Mecartin was first seen in the garb of an actor in his debut directorial venture itself. Later, after a gap of 18 years, with Dileep starrer Ring Master (Raffi was the director), Raffi made a comeback to the screen. The latest talk is that Raffi, who was last seen in Shafi’s Two Countries, has been selected to essay the villain role in Boban Samuel’s Shajahanum Pareekuttiyum. When quizzed about the role, he says “I play an NRI in the film. It was a few months ago writer Y.V. Rajesh came to me through by brother director Shafi. I liked the subject, which is an out and out humour story.”
