A thriller like no other
Deepak S. Jay got the thread of his film 45 Seconds during a casual discussion with his friends. His friend Amit Ganguly talked about the difference between standard and high definition television, which gave him the spark for 45 Seconds, a thriller. Using the cinematic license, Deepak slightly altered the time difference, which, in his opinion, is to bring the effect. The story of 45 Seconds unfolds in an apartment where a murder occurs. The police believe that the killer resides within the complex. And they are in search of him. The audience may guess the killer as the story moves forward. Deepak says they knew it and hence brought the suspense in the execution part.
“The suspense lies in the mode of killing,” he says. “This idea has not been used in Malayalam before. That makes it different. When I got the thread from my friend, Arun Raj (co-writer) and I built a story around that idea, making sure that there wouldn’t be any loopholes,” he adds. The movie is produced by Gravity Creations and Silent Makers and is distributed by Friday Film House. Actor Vijay Babu plays a police officer in 45 Seconds. The cinematography is by Tobin Thomas. Appu Bhattathiri handles the editing part.
“We first discussed this idea with Vijay Babu sir in 2016. His response had been positive. But then there was a delay as he got busy with Careful and Angamali Diaries. I approached him again through director Vipin Das. In two minutes, I briefed him about the thread. He liked it and agreed to be a part of it,” says Deepak. The movie has already garnered more than 47,000 views on YouTube.
