The fourth Achayan
The 2016 release multi-starrer Hello Namasthe was the last one for Sanju Sivaram, who is now gearing up for Achayans in which he essays a lead role along with Jayaram, Unni Mukundan and Adil Abraham.
Quizzed about the gap in his career, Sanju says, “Yes, there was no release for me in the last one year. In fact, many offers came to me, but I did not find any interesting script among those. And amid Hello Namasthe and Achayans, I acted in two films which are yet to be released.”
It was the crew as well as the subject which attracted the actor to Achayans. "The film has an excellent subject. The director and the screenwriter have delivered hits earlier. Along with that, the cast also attracted me to this project," says Sanju, who recently made his debut in Tollywood. Sanju essayed the lead role in award-winning director Rajesh Touchriver's Telugu movie Raktham.
It is a Naxal-related subject and I act as a Naxalite. As the movie was shot in sync sound pattern, I had to by-heart the whole dialogues before the shoot. It was a great experience for me,” he says.
On his Television anchor stint, he says, “It was for just three months that I moved to the mini screen and now I am done with it. Interestingly, though I have been acting for four years and was part of 12 movies, it was my anchor stint that helped me become closer to family audience. But still, I do not want to be typecast as a mini screen anchor.
Even before accepting the offer from the channel, I was determined that I would not become active in TV as movies are my goal and for that, my focus should be on big screen alone.” Sanju, who has three more movies in his kitty, has recently acted in Mohanlal's Villain and Tovino Thomas' yet-to-be-titled film.
