She was in the news for all the wrong reasons. Leena Maria Paul, who trained to be a dentist in Bengaluru, was later smitten by the TV and cinema bug when she settled down in Kochi. Ably supported by her partner, she dabbled in modeling and showbiz, managing to act in a couple of Tamil and Malayalam films. She was also keen to act in Bollywood, and starred in Madras Café with John Abraham.
The actress was also seen in the Tamil film Biriyani and the Malayalam flick Aamir. But controversy struck as Leena was put behind bars along with her spouse Shekhar Chandrashekhar alias Kevin, who had cheated investors from across the country. They duo was on the run after several complaints were registered. They were finally arrested in 2015.
The actress now claims that she has been acquitted from all the cases against her and that she is all set to release her autobiography, Love for a Man. “I have undergone lot of tension and worry during the CBI investigation. Everything was for the man I loved. Though I was entangled in legal troubles, I decided to stick on with my husband through thick and thin. It is difficult for a girl to go through all this. Society started looking at me in a different way. There has been a great hue and cry about me in the media. But I had faith in the Indian judiciary and that’s why I have been discharged from all the cases I was involved in,” she claims.
The legal battle she had undergone inspired her to write the book that will be released in August. “The book will be highlighting the painful trial I had to face just for the man I love the most,” Leena adds. The actress also revealed that she could be a part of the reality show, Bigg Boss. “Nothing has been finalised yet, but talks are on,” she adds. Leena says she is part of a multilingual film project based on the Chola kingdom. “I play a princess in this untitled film. It’s a big banner film and the director will be from Bollywood,” she concludes.will be from Bollywood,” she concludes.
