Hero days' are back again for Sanju Sivram
Between his hero roles, there was been a gap of three years and Sanju Sivram doesn’t regret it. He had made his debut as hero through Ni Ko Nja Cha along with Sunny Wayn and Praveen. Later, he was spotted in supporting roles. Now, the actor is back in the protagonist’s role with Hello Namasthe, which is all set to reach the screens.
Why such a long gap? “I was hearing so many subjects with lead roles for me for past few years, but I did not find those apt for me. That’s why this gap occurred and I don’t regret avoiding those projects,” says Sanju, adding it is the subject and the crew which force him to say yes to a project.
“It is a bigger responsibility to do a solo lead role. I think, as of now, I am not capable to head such a project. If I get a good film of an excellent director, I would do that,” he says.
When it came to Hello Namasthe, he says, “It is a light movie, not a big one. But yes, it is a good movie which offers the audience some happy, enjoyable moments; Hello Namasthe is an out and out fun movie.”
Sanju got the offer to the movie through Vinay Forrt, who essays another lead role in the film. “It was in last August I got the call to this proeject. Before that, we (I and Vinay) have acted together in Fahadh’s Monsoon Mangoes. We are good friends and it was he who suggested my name for this charecter in Hello Namasthe - a role equivalent to his.”
Sanju was very comfortable with the crew. “Vinay, Krishnettan (Krishna Poojappura), Balettan (P. Balachandran), Suku ettan (P. Sukumar), Miya and Bhavana - all were very supportive. Though all of them are much senior than me in the industry, they were quite friendly with me,” he says, adding that he did not take an initiative to bring out any change in dialogue rendering or looks for this role.
“I am donning the role of a Radio Jockey, who doesn’t follow a dialect. When it comes to my attire, for my previous films, I have tried makeovers for characters. But for Hello Namasthe, there is no such experiments,” he says.
