The lion’s share of hits of the 1980s and 90s were from the Priyadarshan-Sreenivasan team. No Malayali could make a list of their favourites, without at least having one film from this team. It was 13 years ago Kilichundan Mambazham reached screens, for which Sreenivasan penned the script for Priyadarshan, who introduced him as a screenwriter with Odaruthammava Aalariyam. Now the duo is all set to team up together for a film.
Actor Maniyanpillai Raju will bankroll the film, which has Prithviraj in the lead. Confirming the news, Raju says “Yes Sreeni has joined the project as the screenwriter. The basic story of the film is written by Priyan himself. Though Priyan was planning to write the script himself, it was a few days ago, we decided to rope in Sreeni for that.” When quizzed about Mohanlal’s presence in the film, he says “No, Mohanlal is not in this film. Even I have seen some reports indicating that Lal has been cast in this project. Those are baseless reports. Our film has Prithvi in the lead and it will start shooting by March next year in Sri Lanka.”
