Malayalam actress assault case: Probe into D Cinemaas' land

A. Kowsigan said the history of the land since 1956 would be verified, and a report sent to the government.

THRISSUR: The alleged encroachment of one acre of government land in Chalakudy by Dileep's D Cinemaas theatre complex will be probed and take action against offenders, agriculture minister V. S. Sunil Kumar promised Sunday.
He said the revenue officials had started an inquiry as per the direction of revenue minister E. Chandrasekharan. He denied reports of the LDF subsiding it after assuming power. “Whether it is Dileep or not, encroachers will not be spared,” he told reporters here.

Meanwhile, Thrissur collector A. Kowsigan said the history of the land since 1956 would be verified, and a report sent to the government. Lawyer of the complainant said the revenue minister should instead order an inquiry against the revenue officials who sat on the Land Commissioner’s 2015 report that Dileep had acquired land illegally.

“The MLA friend of Dileep along with his top party leader helped him get a favourable report from former collector M. S. Jaya and later after it was rejected, an LDF minister from Thrissur whose close relative recently acted in a movie hushed it up,” lawyer Ayup Khan P. A. said. He also said Dileep had created ten fake deeds to own the land given to a royal family in 1948 and later became the Oottupura of a temple.
