After a gap of three years, Asif Ali, Bhavan and Lal Junior are all set join hand for a film. It is for the sequel of Honey Bee, which was one of the blockbusters of 2013, the team come up together after a brief gap. According to the sources close with the project, the film will go on floor by August first week.
Like the first part, director Jean Paul Lal alias Lal Junior will pen the dialogues along with wielding the megaphone. Jean, who is the creative director of his father Lal’s upcoming Dileep film — King Liar — has started the scripting of Honey Bee 2.
“Alby, who cranked the camera for Honey Bee will operate the camera for the sequel, when Ratheesh Raj will reprise the role of editor,” sources say.
Lal, Sreenath Bhasi, Balu Varghese, Baburaj, Archana Kavi, Suresh Krishna, Vijay Babu and Joy Mathew were cast for the prominent roles in the first part, which had sound tracks composed by Deepak Dev.
It will be Lal Jr’s third directorial venture. Though, after Honey Bee, he had directed Hi I’m Tony, which had Asif Ali and Lal in the lead roles, it could not make much impact on the box office.
